Requirements
Background: Please Note: The admissions office will invite students to attend the interview process on Shark Preview Weekends. Once selected for the award, the student must confirm acceptance and accept the President’s Scholarship award by May 1st in order to guarantee the funds. NSU will cover up to full cost of tuition based on the students award package for the academic year and includes all institutional scholarships and federal/state scholarships and grants.
Requirements:
- First-time in college freshman enrolled at NSU in the fall semester
- Awards are limited
- Full-time enrollment in an Undergraduate traditional or non-traditional degree seeking program
- Undergraduate Nursing Program at NSU’s Main Campus in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
- Complete the NSU State-Aid application (if in-state student) and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to April 15th
- Students in Dual Admission programs lose their eligibility when they progress to the professional/graduate portion/tuition of their program
- Enrolled in at least 12 credits(9 credits for nursing) by the end of drop/add for the semester
- Submit: an Application for Admission, Secondary School/Post-Secondary Credentials, Proof of English Language Proficiency ( TOEFL 79 or IELTS 6.0)
- Complete the School Report (Common Application only)
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher is required, but you may submit up to a total of three letters
- If selected for the exclusive President’s Premier Scholarship, double room/board is included
Additional Information
Renewal: STRICTLY ENFORCED- Yes; maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at the end of the academic year (fall and winter semesters), maintain full-time enrollment by completing 12 credit hours in the fall semester and 12 credit hours in the winter semester. Student must be enrolled in at least 12 credits(9 credits for nursing)by the end of drop/add for the semester, which is the first eight weeks of both fall and winter terms. Renewable for four years or degree completion, whichever comes first. Students will lose eligibility for this award once they are charged tuition at the graduate level
