Transfer Agreement Transfer Admission Agreements are formal agreements between Butte College and other universities to accept credits in transfer and give guaranteed transfer admission.

Butte College international students can choose one of our partner universities to transfer to for their final two years of the Bachelor’s Degree. Applicants who are accepted will receive both an admission letter from Butte College and a Transfer Admission Agreement Letter from the university they have selected. Students can show these admission letters to the United States Embassy or Consulate to explain their academic goals and career pathways and obtain student visas.

If you are interested in participating in this program please email international@butte.edu.

List of our partner universities

  • California State University, Chico
  • University of Oregon  Transfer agreements between Butte College and four-year institutions apply to both resident and international students. Students will have access to the following:

    Transfer Admission Agreements (TAA)

Offer clear and specific eligibility guidelines about admission requirements. (California State Universities & Private Universities)

    Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAGs)

Offer clear and specific eligibility guidelines about admission requirements in order for a student to have the most competitive transfer admission application. (University of California)

Guaranteed Transfer to a CSU –
Associate of Arts/Science Transfer Degree (AA-T/AS-T)

Butte College offers students guaranteed priority admission into the California State University (CSU) system. Students who complete an Associate of Arts degree (AA-T) or Associate of Science degree (AS-T), will have satisfied all or most of the general education (or core) requirements at the various baccalaureate institutions that accept this agreement. The AA-T/AS-T agreement does not guarantee admission to a specific CSU or to a specific program/major.

Students should check with their intended transfer institution for further details regarding any additional general education, major prerequisites and admission requirements. See your counselor for updated information and details of transfer.
